Changing Dimensions

This project was inspired by the poem Needles and Pins by Shel Silverstein. To me, the poem talks about a person that is struggling to satisfy society's standards. For this piece, I chose to focus on the topic of beauty standards. The mannequin is used to represent someone who looks pretty and glamorous on the outside, but even then, they feel as if they are not good enough for society. The shattered mirror represents how the person views themself and how emotionally broken they feel on the inside.
